Flemington Rotary Club Donates $10,000 to Hunterdon Medical Center

Chris Venditti of the Rotary Club of Flemington presents a check for
$10,000 to Robert Wise, President and CEO of Hunterdon Healthcare on
January 18, 2012 in support of “Investing in a New Generation of Care,
the Campaign for Hunterdon Healthcare.”  Flemington’s Rotarians made
Hunterdon Healthcare’s campaign a priority in their 2011 annual
charitable support through various fundraising efforts. The campaign
underwrites a multi-year facilities and technology enhancement project
to benefit three key service areas: cancer treatment, surgical services
and cardiovascular care.  The contribution was committed in 2011 and
therefore qualified to receive the “Meet the Challenge” match that
was offered to the Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation in May last year.
 An anonymous grateful patient donor offered a ‘challenge’ to the
Foundation to raise $2 million in new gifts and pledges to support the
campaign by the end of 2011 in order to secure a $1 million contribution
from the donor.  Thanks to The Rotary Club of Flemington and many other
members of our community, together, we ‘met the challenge’, raising
over $2 million and putting the hospital one major step closer to
achieving their campaign goal of $15 million.
